After graduating from Aoyama Gakuin University. Keiko started to study flamenco, under the supervision of professor Shoji Kojima and professor Sachiko Setta. In 1988 she visited Spain for the first time and stayed there for two full years. She studied under -among others- professor Manolo Marin, professor Juana Amaya, and professor Mario Maya. Back to Tokyo, she won in 1992, an encouragement prize for her performance at the Association of Japanese Flamenco (ANIF). She then visited Spain again and again between the years 1994 and 2001, in order to improve her style and perform with professor Juana Amaya and professor Domingo Ortega. Today, Keiko spends her time with her pupils teaching at her studio, "Estudio Pureza", which she established in 1996. She also performs at various places. Keiko's dance is very particular in the sense that it is much influenced by the sensual and expressive style of Spanish Gypsies.
